Random thoughts....

A friend who reads my blog on a regular basis and I were talking today and she said that she had hoped to read something from me today. I explained, in my usual hour long explaination, that there were alot of thoughts I wanted to write about, but not enough time. I really need to be a published author so that I can write as a job... Well, one can always dream........

But, as I was eating my lunch, I thought I'd just post some of those random thoughts that are bearing on my heart this week......

Struggling well, as my friend Mark Jackson of Awakened Heart Ministries is oft to say....

God's grace and peace.

A comment made to me; "You think you can stand before God and declare yourself a good father?"

A statement made to me; "When I asked her what she was good at, she just went silent. Then she said, 'Nothing really.'"

On Josh Graves' blog, a minister who attended a Rekindling the Heart marriage retreat weekend that I and my separated wife attended, he was speaking of McLaren and an interview he did. "When I asked him what he meant by the statement, "Eschatology always wins" McLaren's response: "If you think your house is going to burn down the next day, you are not going to be motivated to clean up your room." http://www.joshgraves.blogspot.com/

The song by Tim McGraw, "I've been watching you" about a son emulating his father, in all aspects.

I look around the Christian landscape and see alot of deception and distortion taking place as we seem more focused on 'saving' the generation upcoming by changing the gospel to meet their needs. I thought the most basic need was to help them realize that 'God-shaped' hole in their hearts that only Christ can fill....He is the Truth, the Way, and the Light. None will come to the Father but through Him.

I look around in dismay at the ease in which the enemy is infiltrating the church body and the faithful who walk away because they don't feel intellectual enough to take on big names like McLaren, Willard, and McManus. Christianity isn't being redefined to draw us into the truthful pursuit of His purpose, rather redefining God to fit into our humanistic and universalistic mindset.

I told a friend that four years ago, I would've been shocked to discover that the possiblity of a 'universal, world-wide' church of multi-beliefs was possible, but that is exactly what McLaren preaches in his new book. Taking the beliefs of Hindu, Tao, Islam, Judaism, and the 'hijacked' Christianity and creating a world religion that fits into the spiritual disciplines of old.....

As the world grows more into the globalization and world market mentality, such a world religion will pressure those opposed into smaller communities of labelled 'intolerants' or, as Rick Warren puts it, 'rejectionist', who the world will wait either to leave the church or simply die.

I'm trying to put all these things into a cohesive format for you to reject or read (at least). I'll finish my blog on it as soon as I can and post.

Until then, I leave you with this:

"Stop quarreling with God! If you agree with Him, you will have peace at last, and things will go well for you. Listen to His instructions, and store them in your heart. If you return to the Almighty and clean up your life, you will be restored. Give up your lust for money, and throw your precious gold into the river. Then the Almighty Himself will be your treasure. He will be your precious silver." Job 22:21-25
